Thursday 31 July 2025 (Week 2)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
Upmarket Day - A huge thanks for everyone who supported the recent UpMarket Stall on Saturday. The response from our community has been heartwarming to say the least. All proceeds to this venture will make their way to the McGuire Family who are thankful for the support that has been shown at this difficult time. St Brigid's...you are amazing!
Friendship Day - Yesterday was International Friendship Day! Thank you to Mrs Elam who coordinated several lunch time activities. The children had a go at rock painting, gardening with Mrs Turner, bracelet making and crocheting. What a beautiful way to celebrate with our friends around us...even the sun came out to brighten our lunch time!
Running Club - Thank you to those families who have braved the cold Wednesday mornings for running club! If you are keen to give this a go, please come along to school at 7.30am on Wednesday morning. A big thanks to Chelsea and Anthony Manning, together with Mrs Beesley who have been running (pardon the pun!) some warm-up activities for this club over the past two weeks.
St Vinnies Winter Appeal - Thank you to those people who donated items to our recent St Vinnies callout for the annual Winter Appeal! The food is now in the hands of St Vinnie's Bridgetown and will be distributed to those in the community in need.
Canteen Committee - We are looking for any interested parents who would like to join our canteen committee. This committee will meet once a term to discuss general items pertaining to our canteen service. If you would like to join this committee, please contact the front office.
Lockdown Drill - Next Thursday 7 August, we will run a lockdown drill. Recently we upgraded our PA system to include a 'lockdown' sound and this will be the first opportunity we have to test it. Practices such as these are mandatory in schools each term. Rest assured, the staff are very good at using these drills as a teachable moment to ensure they do not create undue anxiety as it can be somewhat confronting when an alarm is sounding loudly around the school.
Confirmation Mass - Please mark Sunday 17 August into your calendars! We would love as many families as possible at this Mass where we will celebrate Millie in Year 6 receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. This will also be the first opportunity for our Parish to meet Bishop George who was recently installed as the new Bishop of Bunbury. Mass will be celebrated at 5.00pm in the church, followed by light supper in the hall. If you attend, a plate of food to share will be appreciated.
Have an enjoyable remainder to your week!
