A note from Mr Pardini

Dear Families,

Congratulations Molly! We were all thrilled to hear our latest recipient of the MJR Award was Molly Varnavides. With a smile on her face and a look of shock at the same time, Molly received Xavier the Bear and made her way into the MJR Hall of Fame! Congratulations Molly on being a true MJR Rock star at St Brigid's. Here is what her certificate had printed on it, which was made up from her nominations.

For consistently demonstrating kindness to others, showing respect to our school and having a caring nature towards everyone around you. Molly comes to school each day with a big smile, she greets teachers and students with warmth and is a supportive friend to all the children at St Brigid's. Molly has a willingness to help around the school and is an outstanding role model for the school community.

Book Week – Thank you everyone for embracing the world of books at last Tuesday's dress up day. It was a day of colour and excitement and thank goodness we were able to gather outside on the court for the parade where our new shelter proved very handy! At school the children enjoyed our visiting author Kate Searle who led sessions about the wonderful world of writing stories.

Book Fair - The books have arrived, and Mrs Tuck has done a wonderful job preparing the items for sale. You can call into our Book Fair shop (located alongside the hall) in the mornings, or after school. All children will have a time to visit the fair during class time, to create a “wish list”. EFTPOS facilities are available and preferred for ease of management.

Parking - School Drop Off / Pick-up

Parking outside the School Hall will no longer be available to parents (with the exception of approved After School Care services). Recently the number of vehicles using this area is causing congestion along with safety issues with vehicles crossing over the path for pedestrians. This area belongs to the Parish, not the school, therefore we ask to be respectful of this Parish facility.

Please see in this newsletter a reminder about the guidelines of our Kiss N Drop Zone - thank you for your vigilance to assist with the flow of traffic and ensuring safety for all.

TREE Talks - Congratulations to the following students who made it through to the Grand Final of TREE Talks:

  • Yr 4 - Jaydan Finch and Callum Roberts
  • Yr 5 - Albie Glancy and Harper Glancy
  • Yr 6 - Millie Puljiz and Charlie Giblett

Next Tuesday 2 September, we will host the Grand Final in the St Brigid's Hall. The timing of this day will be as follows:

  • 9.35am Year 4 students
  • 10.40am - Morning Tea
  • 11.10am Year 5
  • 12.20pm Lunch
  • 12.50pm Year 6

We look forward to welcoming our visiting schools and hearing the range of topics delivered by our regional Catholic School students. We will also welcome our judges who are represented but the Bunbury Regional Catholic Education Office.

QCESR - Our school will take part in the Quality Education Catholic Education School Review (QCESR) on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 September. Earlier today, a letter was sent out yesterday to all families via SZapp with more information regarding this review. Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions about this.

Father's Day Brekkie - We welcome all Father figures to a scrumptious breakfast on our basketball court on Friday 5 September for the 'cook-up' of the year! At this event, we will supply a coffee van (if you are prepared to queue!) and the P&F will draw the major prize for the annual Father's Day raffle (and this year it is a huge prize!!!). We look forward to seeing you on this morning.

School Photo Day - "Say Cheeeeeese!" Photo day is nearly here – Tuesday 16 September. We are proud and excited that it will be our first ever photo day where the whole school will be 'snapped' wearing our “Smart Play’’ uniform. We remind all families to ensure their child's uniform is in 'tip top' condition for this day. It is of particular importance all students adhere to our uniform policy, not only in reference to uniform items, also hair accessories and jewellery. Whilst our policy applies every day, we will be extra vigilant on photo day. Please refer to the uniform policy and guidelines below. Sibling group photos will also be an option; for families who are interested forms can be obtained from the front office.

Open Afternoon / Art Exhibition - Plans are well and truly underway for this annual event. Please make sure you clear the afternoon of Tuesday 23 September in your diaries so you can attend. Please note...the date of this event has changed (previously published as Wed 24th Sep). The classrooms will showcase your child's work and will be open from 3.30-5.30pm. We will also have the school hall open from 3.00pm - 5.30pm for you to view the display of wonderful art.

Have an enjoyable remainder to your week!
