Thursday 11 September 2025 (Week 8)
A note from Mr Pardini
Dear Families,
Book Fair - Thank you for your support of our Book Fair last week. We are pleased to announce the fair sold over $3,700 worth of goods, which means our school has earned $1,100 to purchase additional books for our library! A huge 'shout out' to Mrs Tuck who spent many hours organising this fair...three cheers for Mrs Tuck!!!!
Father's Day Brekkie - Even the rain couldn't dampen our Father's Day spirit! Thank you to our Dads for coming along to celebrate this important morning with your children and we hope you enjoyed a nice brekkie burger! Congratulations to the P&F for coordinating yet another raffle extraordinaire. I am pleased to publish the winners of the 3 prizes were:
- 1st prize - Haidin Dauti
- 2nd prize - Matt Tuckett
- 3rd prize - Kurt Mentlein
Quality Catholic Education School Review (QCESR) - You may have noticed three visitors at our school this week. We welcomed CEWA representatives taking part in the '5 yearly' school review process. They met with a selection of staff, parents and students over two days and the feedback was very positive. Some of our Year 6 students gave them a guided tour of our school where they enjoyed having a look around, even picking some fruit and fresh herbs from our garden. We are so proud of the fantastic team we have at St Brigid's and I am glad our review panel were able to experience sense of community in our school.
Creative Crew - This Sunday 14 Sept we have 7 students from years 4 to 6 taking part in our "Creative Crew Challenge" in Bunbury. Mrs Willis has been guiding the students through the creative process – we thank her for all the time and effort in facilitating the process with the students. This year the students chose the category of Literature with the brief being “Recreate a traditional fairytale through a modern lens". Requirements included writing a script and performing a dramatisation with props they have created. The group of students have adapted The Three Little Pigs - replacing the little pigs as three children and having Artificial Intelligence (AI) substitute the 'wolf'. We wish Levi (Y4), Amos (Y5), Riley (Y5), Maisie (Y5), Will (Y5), Ted (Y6) and Elleanor (Y6) the best of luck.
Bon Voyage Mrs Turner - We are all very envious of Mrs Turner who will be heading off on a 7-week adventure to Europe at the end of this week. Mrs Turner is embarking on an epic walk of the entire Camino de Santiago in Spain which is over 700 kms long!! I know we will miss you Mrs Turner but may you enjoy every step and every moment on your well-deserved long service leave.
School Photo Day - Please make sure you are prepared to look your best this coming Tuesday for our first school photo in our smart play uniform. Thankfully our new uniform makes it very easy for all families to look the part for the photo. Below is a reminder of our uniform guidelines. Sibling group photos will also be an option; for families who are interested forms can be obtained from the front office.
St Brigid's Feast Day - Next Wednesday 17 September we will be enjoying a day of celebration for our Feast Day where we recognise our patron - Saint Brigid. A sausage sizzle lunch will be on offer for all students (free of charge). There will be a morning prayer service in the church (Yr 1-6) as well as some fun indoor activities for the classes. Feast Day is an opportunity for our school to acknowledge the charism that makes us a Catholic School. We will send a reminder out to all families next week reminding you about the sausage sizzle lunch.
Open Afternoon / Art Exhibition - Plans are well and truly underway for this annual event. Please make sure you clear the afternoon of Tuesday 23 September in your diaries so you can attend. Please note...the date of this event has changed (previously published as Wed 24th Sep). The classrooms will showcase your child's work and will be open from 3.30-5.30pm. We will also have the school hall open from 3.00pm - 5.30pm for you to view the display of wonderful art.
School Disco - Our wonderful P&F are ready to dance the night away with your children this coming Friday. Please note the flyer below with information regarding the times for this night. Tickets may be purchased via CDF Pay.
Have an enjoyable remainder to your week!

Hockey Incursion
Last week our students in Y1-6 took part in a hockey incursion with Keith Old ‘Oldie’ (as he likes to be called!) from Hockey WA. The students all had a great day and impressed him with all their amazing hockey skills! A photo gallery is included below.
